Sunglasses
We are all threatened by UV rays!
UV rays are number one enemy for our eyes. Sunglasses have a minimum sun
protection of 95% against UV rays.
All Docmeter sunglasses have a 100% protection against UV rays.
Ski and snowboard
goggles:
Ski or snowboard
goggles are essential elements of your equipment. A good pair of goggles
will protect you from these dangers:
Sun & Ultraviolet
rays
The combination of high altitude and the reflection of the snow causes
the sun's rays to hit you much harder during skiing or snowboarding than
during other extreme sports. UV rays can damage your eyes and cause snow
blindness.
Snow and Ice
During highspeed descents, you will want to prevent snow and ice particles
from getting into your eyes thus blinding you.
Twigs
Those who go off slopes or into the backcountry will want to protect their
eyes from twigs hitting their face as they descend through the trees
How
many lenses should I choose?
Many goggles have multiple layers of lenses. Goggles with multiple lenses
do not fog as fast as goggles with single lenses. In general, it is always
better to buy goggles with multiple lenses.
Every Docmeter goggles come
with double anti-fog lenses.
What lens colour should
I choose?
Lenses come in many colours with specific colours for specific light conditions:
Iridium: Mirror surface. Reduces glare without distorting colours making
them suitable for bright sunny conditions. Filter UV rays.
Metal spay: Reduces glare making them suitable for sunny conditions. Filter
UV rays.
Yellow: Brings out shadows making them suitable for most conditions and
especially in low to moderate light.
Every Helmeter goggles offer the possibility to interchange the lenses
to adapt to weather conditions.
How much UV protection
should I get?
If you are going to use your goggles in sunny or bright conditions, make
sure to have at least 95% UV rays protection.
All Docmeter goggles have a
100% protection against UV rays.
Do children need to wear
sunglasses?
Children’s eyes are particularly sensitive to UV rays because they
are not yet completely developed. Also, children stay much longer outside
than most adults. Children’s sunglasses must block 100% of UV rays.
